How to Eat a Scammer

I'm not literally eating anyone BUT I am eating away at the Scammer's time. In essence here is the basics of how to waste the time of a Scammer. Just some basic guidelines. First and foremost be SAFE, Protect your own "Personally Identifiable Information" (PII), and don't work too hard.
The primary purpose is to make the Scammer do ALL THE WORK. If they are doing things for you they cannot concentrate on others. your efforts are to detract them from others, waste their time and cause problems that they have to solve.

Here are some things to do to further your efforts. First your goal is to play stupid, the dumber they think you are the more likely they are to keep you on the hook. Threatening to not do something if they don't do something is a very good delaying move. Letting them think you are an easy target is the key, promises of other things, maybe freebies or other people they can work with are key.

1. Misinterpret their e-mails. (this will confuse them and make them question their own use of the English language.)
2. Do the exact opposite of what is asked (If they say don't talk to your lawyer, respond and say you talked to your lawyer like they requested)
3. Provide minimal information. (If they ask for a phone number give them too few numbers, if they want bank info give a misspelled bank name, etc...)
4. If you are to send files send large files in bad formats. (rename Picture files to .txt, or .dll or rename large .dll files to .jpg etc...)
5. Always have them do the work. (Have them repeat themselves, resend items and in general make them work)
6. Remember you are in control and if needed just stop the conversation. Until next Scam.

It also had two "U.S. Postal Service Money Orders" each worth $990.00 for a total of $1980. The letter contained instructions to go to my bank cash the money orders then send the money via a Local Western Union to the addresses listed above. The humorous part was that the assignment was to evaluate a Western Union. Anyway I will continue to attempt to string this one along and post updates when I can.
